Makerstoun estate has a driven pheasant shoot. When the river is safe enough there are drives with the spectacular river backdrop, the birds are retrieved from the water. A shoot day involves both morning and afternoon drives, with lunch in the dining room of Makerstoun House.

Our professional game keeper, Glyn Jamieson works hard the year round to ensure healthy birds that make good sport and good eating.
